Princess Pin-Up

So, instead of sleeping I ended up listening to the 'Tangled' soundtrack and ended up drawing this pin-up which is obviously inspired by my choice of soundtrack. :P

Artist Spotlight time!

With his gracious permission, I'd like to bring your attention to the gorgeous work of Simon Eckert, aka Scebiqu! Please take a few minutes to check out his cghub and deviantart pages!

He's been doing a bunch of awesome mythology and history themed pin-ups, of which I will give you a little taste. :] Enjoy!

For grandpa

My grandfather's been in the hospital for the past few days undergoing some tests. Things aren't sounding too good at this point. So what have I done? I've made him a get well pin-up. Gramps likes eagles and cowboys. I reckon a fantasy eagle pin-up is on its way. But for now, a cute, quick little cowgirl sketch. Get well soon Grandpa!

EightSix

Okay, I'm posting on behalf of someone else, today! This awesome pin-up was done by my good Kiwi friend James, who's started his own studio, EightSix, and you should totally check them out! He also has a blog over on Tumblr, so you should take a look at that too. The boy can draw! Give him a warm welcome and maybe we can convince him to accept my author invite finally. ;)

A new piece I'm working on...

Hi Blog group troupe ;) This is a new piece I'm painting for my June show in Chicago... not finished yet but it started as black and white and I just want hints of color.

Introductions: Vinh-Luan Luu

Hellos! Thought i would start out with a brief introduction. My name is Luan, but you can find me on the web under my full name Vinh-Luan Luu. I rotoscope from photography I shoot myself. I'm a part of a comic studio called Space-Gun Studios. I've released two pinup books via Kablam and the third one should be in prepress right now. I have a few other directions I'm hoping to venture into this year. I'll probably be posting a few more Blade Babe | Gun Gals prints that I will be doing in the near future as well. Hope you enjoy my work.

Hey guys,

It's been aaaaages since I had the time to do anything like a pinup. Too long. But I played a lot of Red Dead Redemption over my holidays so I had to get this one out of the system.

Enjoy.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year, Everyone!

Sorry for the image-less post, but I wanted to make sure we kicked off this year in a big way, so a few announcements/questions/etc.

First of all, Thank you so much everyone for the Calendar! As of today we've sold 27 copies for a total of $162.27 raised! Since this is the first day of the calendar, I hope all of you that ordered one finally have it on your wall and open. :] The calendar is still available to buy, so if you hear anyone lamenting their 2011 calendar-less-ness, make sure to spread to them the good news!

Second of all, Congrats on making a Not Your Father's Pin-up such a success this year! We got over 6000 pages views last month, and each month has only been getting better! Let's keep up the good work! Don't forget to send me your artist bios if you haven't yet - It's only some extra exposure for you. :]

And Lastly, I'd love to get some feedback on how we're doing. So if you are a contributor, or a watcher, or even if you've only just stumbled across the blog, let me know what you think of it, and what we can do to keep it exciting and fun. I'm still looking for more pin-up artists, so if you draw pin-ups or know an artist you love that does, send me a link to your/their work! I'd also really love to maybe get a couple pin-up photographers on here, so if taking sexy pictures of ladies and gents is your thing, make sure to say so!

I hope you've all had a really amazing holiday, and Happy New Year everyone! Let's make this one even better than the last!
