Mwah!

I was thinking about the pin-up blog today, and since I don't have a lot of time these days, just did this. xoxo

Snow Leopard Lady

Ahem. So, after posting about the pin-up book for WWF idea, I got carried away and just did a sketch. :P

Haven't decided if I'm going to paint it, or leave it in this style (which I kind of like). Um, yeah, that's all. :P

Happy 1st Birthday, Not Your Father's Pin-Up!

Hi everyone!

I'm very pleased to write this celebration post for Not Your Father's pin-up's first birthday! We are officially one year old, as of today!

The year has been great! With over 110 pin-ups, 46 artists, and one charity publication, I am inclined to call this year a success!

We're still on the lookout for more artists - either to invite to join the blog, or to feature in a spotlight, so don't hesitate to ask!

Everyone, let's make next year even more awesome. :]

I did a little sketch for you all, to celebrate!

Princess Pin-Up

So, instead of sleeping I ended up listening to the 'Tangled' soundtrack and ended up drawing this pin-up which is obviously inspired by my choice of soundtrack. :P

Artist Spotlight: Simon Eckert

Artist Spotlight time!

With his gracious permission, I'd like to bring your attention to the gorgeous work of Simon Eckert, aka Scebiqu! Please take a few minutes to check out his cghub and deviantart pages!

He's been doing a bunch of awesome mythology and history themed pin-ups, of which I will give you a little taste. :] Enjoy!

EightSix

Okay, I'm posting on behalf of someone else, today! This awesome pin-up was done by my good Kiwi friend James, who's started his own studio, EightSix, and you should totally check them out! He also has a blog over on Tumblr, so you should take a look at that too. The boy can draw! Give him a warm welcome and maybe we can convince him to accept my author invite finally. ;)

The Calendar is Done!

The Calendar is done!

You can find it for sale here: Pink Ribbon Calendar

As you can see we ended up going through lulu to publish it, and here's hoping it turns out well!

I have set each calendar to $20, which means that the 'author cut' is $6.01. This entire cut of each calendar will be passed on to Pink Ribbon International, and I'm going to make a page here on the blog so ya'll can keep track and see how well we're doing. :]

If you'd rather have a greater cut go to the charity, or would like to buy a bunch to fundraise in your own town/city, I can bulk order copies (which makes the printing cost of each calendar drop quite a bit), so please contact me to work something out.

Please spread the word and consider buying a copy for yourself! :]

Cheers!

Pin-Up Calendar Entry from Kelly

I received this juicy tid-bit in my inbox this evening from the very talented Kelly (aka, kellyx) for the Calendar! :D

The lovely model pictured here is named Veronika. Thank you so much, both of you! It came out gorgeously!

And now, for the pretty :

The Lady Amalthea

My gosh! Art! From me? Crazy!

It's been a long time coming, but here's an actual pin-up! To be honest I started it ages ago for the Last Unicorn gallery thing that was going on, but it was left unfinished and then forgotten. I was going through my hard drive to find things to print for the convention tomorrow, and found this! Gave it a couple hours worth of work and voila, I think it's looking fairly respectable. This isn't an entry for the calendar, since it's the wrong format, but I might enter it to be put in the lower half maybe.

Pin-Up Artist Spotlight : Serge Birault

Hello everyone!

You probably already know him from Imagine FX, but I thought I'd bring your attention to some gorgeous pin-up work if you hadn't seen it yet!

One of the neat things I'd like to point out is that he has lots of in-progress shots and short tutorials for his pin-ups on his blog, PapaNinja. I especially recommend checking out how he works with ref to get those awesome realistic details. Go check it out! You can also take a look at his website, or find him on deviantart.

I've given you a few examples here, but trust me, you'll want to go look at some more of his work!

As you can tell, I am loving the tentacles. :] The last image here was commissioned for my gorgeous friend Rosie, so make sure to go check out her website as well!

Pin-Up News!

No images from me personally today, but I thought I would draw your attention to a few other artists working in the genre!

I ran into this gorgeous piece by Chhuy-Ing Ia thanks to a link from Guido. Please check it out at her blog, here, and leave her a comment! : http://ciiawhatsup.blogspot.com/2010/05/bikini-bottom.html

Also the line-up for the Art Order contest has been posted! Some really nice work, so go check it out! http://artorder.blogspot.com/2010/05/fantasy-vixens-or-pin-up-line-up.html

Tattoed Bride

I know it's not to theme, but this was for this week's Character of the Week contest, "CA Ink". It ended up coming out a lot more Art Nouveau than I intended!
