Reworked an old, old piece. I'm pretty sure it's impossible not to be having too much fun painting this kind of stuff.

  1. Nice, Ned!

Overall it's a bit dark, but I like her expression!

  2. Cheers.

Dark you say? As in the palette, or as if it was painted on a non calibrated monitor. Because the latter is true, and the former is also a distinct possibility. But it looks OK on my end.

  3. Probably my monitor, it tends to darken up anything above 50% black to even darker, so her hands and her feet are quite dark. That's what you get with computers I suppose :P

  4. Ah I see, probably a bit of both then. The legs do go way dark, but I find it helps ground characters when there is no actual ground so to speak, but maybe I took it a bit far. I'll play around with the levels and see if I can fix it. The hands are dark more because I stuffed them up and... well, yeh.

I'll have a look at it at work, where my monitor is a touch better than what I painted it on. My monitor at home has a fair bit of light shift depending on how much I'm hunching.

On a more awesome note, I could have quite a few more pin-ups coming in the future since I may be jumping into a exhibition that deals in pretty much exactly what this blog does too!

  5. Nice work Ned! I like the expression too. I agree with Daestwen's crit though, some of the shadows are too dark, but the one that distracts for me is the one on her shoulder, that I take is the chin shadow, it just needs lightening up a bit, because right now it flattens out the top of her arm.
